Corn Dog

Enjoy these awesome ”dog” whenever you want with this easy recipe.

Prep Time: 10 mins. Cook Time: 9 mins. Total Time: 14 mins.

Corn Dog

Your favorite fair and Street food made right at home.

Ingredients:

2 cups self-raising flour

1 cup corn meal

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

1 3/4 cups milk

2 egg yolks beaten

10 hot dogs

4 cups oil for frying

1 tsp salt

12 wooden skewers

Instruction:

1. Cook or boil the hot dogs for 5 minutes.

2. Preheat canola oil in a wok or deep frying pan over medium heat to 350F.

3.Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs and cut off ends of skewers if necessary so they fit in your frying pan.

4. In a medium bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.

5. Mix the egg and milk together and add to cornmeal mixture.

6. Dry hot dogs with paper towel so cornmeal coating will stick; you can also try coating hot dogs in flour as well.

7. Tip bowl towards you and coat hot dog in cornmeal mixture. Keep swirling/twirling the hot dog until coated evenly and immediately place in hot oil to cook. Cook on first side for 15-20 seconds until starting to brown and gently turn on the other side with metal tongs to continue to cook.

8. Coat and add another corn dog to the pan, cooking 2 corn dogs at a time until lightly browned, about 3 minutes.

9. Drain on paper towels and serve with ketchup and mustard.
