Caramelized Banana Oatmeal Recipe

I love using regular rolled oats to cut cost and so I have control over the ingredients. We’ll often just make a large pot of oatmeal but we definitely have mornings when we need to make something in a hurry. This nearly instant oatmeal method uses regular rolled oats but you can have a bowl made in 3 minutes. The bananas cook with the oatmeal and develop a wonderful, sweet almost caramelized flavor so we’ll generally eat this oatmeal without any added sugar so it’s a great healthy breakfast option too!

Prep Time: 5 mins Cooking Time: 5 mins Total Time: 5 mins

Ingredients:

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup almond milk(you can use cow's milk too your choice)

1 banana (sliced)

olive oil

Instructions:

1. Cook the oatmeal according to package directions. Cook it with milk.

2. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the bananas and cook it for 2 mins on each each side until soft and brown and plump.

3. Remove from the heat. Stir half of banana into the oatmeal, and reserve the other half for the toppings.

4. Serve and enjoy.
